Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some of the most frequently asked questions that we hear from our new clients. We’ve tried to be as helpful as possible in the answers we have given. However, if anything is unclear, we’re always happy to answer your specific questions individually.

Q
What is the average installation time?
A

We work on three to four weeks, from receipt of deposit to delivery and install, an install takes around 2 hours.

Q
Does RGS manufactuer its doors?
A

Our doors are produced and built with precision parts by the manufacturers we use.

Q
Can I match the door to our exsisting coloured facade?
A

RGS are one of a handful of companies that offer over 200 Classic RAL colours as standard, our doors also have matching box and guides, throughtout the RAL colour range. This is what makes us unique.

Q
Should I buy a maintenance contract for our new door?
A

In our opinion, maintenance contracts are not necessary. Our doors are so reliable that other than a wipe down, there is no maintenence required.

Q
Do your doors come with a guarantee?
A

Depending on which package you choose, our doors come with a 5 or 7 year guarantee as standard.

Q
Do our doors have a safety feature?
A

All our doors have a wired safety feature or a built in safety feature. Do not buy a door, if offered, with the Hold to Run option, this is against the regulations and may lead to injury or damage to the door itself.

Q
Can a Roller Door be installed outside of the garage opening?
A

We would always recommend the doors be installed internally. Having an external door will require sealing of the box and guides to make sure there is no water penetration, you will also view the slat from the other side, so it will not look as appealing.

Q
Do your doors have full covers?
A

We believe covers are a must, thus helping to keep the door clean and protected. All doors come with full covers as standard,

Q
Do you take my old door away?
A

Yes, we take away all of your old fixings and the door itself. We find many new build customers opt for an electric door to replace their brand new up and over door. It is always good to try and sell the door on to another, as deposing of a new door is just a waste. If you manage to sell your door, we will take the upmost care when removing it, so it is in a fit state for reinstalling elsewhere. We use certified waste companies to depose of the old equipment.

Q
What happens in the very rare occasion that a fault arises?
A

Quite simply call us and we will attend and rectify any issues to your full satisfaction.

Q
Should I buy a cheap Roller Door?
A

When buying a door you should check that it conforms to regulations and has the correct safety feature as standard. Most often a cheap door does not have this as standard, if you hear the phrase Hold to Run, you should run a mile. If you are buying a large door, make sure it has a safety break, or a built in system. A cheap door will not have these features as standard, all added at an extra cost, your initial cheap price will therefore increase.

Q
What is the best motor manufacturer?
A

The industry considers Somfy as the leading manufacturer, they are so quiet and reliable.

Q
Why should I consider using RGS for my new Roller Garage Door?
A

RGS is an emerging small business, customer satisfaction is the most important aspect to our business. We have chosen a few key manufacturers that offer high end products. We have their full backing if the need arises. We will always be around and will always put your needs first.
